Attachment-based & Relational Therapy

What is attachment-based therapy?

A lot of adults come to therapy because they keep noticing the same patterns in their relationships—feeling responsible for everyone else, having a hard time asking for help, pulling away when things get tense, or repeating dynamics they understand intellectually but can't seem to break free from emotionally.

Attachment and relationship therapy gives you space to explore how your early relational experiences still influence how you connect with people, protect yourself, and navigate closeness today.

Understanding relational patterns

Attachment patterns usually develop early, shaped by family roles, cultural expectations, and your experiences of closeness or distance growing up. These patterns aren't flaws—they're adaptive responses that made sense at the time and helped you cope.

Over time, they might show up as:

  • Having trouble trusting people or letting them support you

  • Being afraid of conflict or of being left

  • Taking on too much in relationships

  • Feeling unseen or misunderstood even when you're close to someone

Therapy helps you bring these patterns into awareness with curiosity, not judgment.

I work from a psychodynamic and relational framework, which means I pay close attention to how patterns show up both in your life and in our work together. The therapeutic relationship itself becomes a place where you can notice, understand, and gently begin to shift the ways you've been relating for a long time.

My approach emphasizes emotional attunement, reflection, and flexibility, while also helping you make practical changes that actually stick in your everyday life.
